Wintry Mix TR

Made it up to the local DH waters Friday for a quick fix. Didn't get to the water until 4:30 about 45 minutes after the rain and snow mix began. I headed up with such a short window to try a new fly I had tied. (Okay let's be honest I headed up with such a small window because I could!)

It seemed to do just fine. I caught four rainbows and one brookie in the forty five minutes I fished. Like most of the time in this cold weather you had to put it right on their nose. At one point I drifted a run repeated times with nothing, then put my strike indicator two inches deeper and had a fish on.
This weekend's weather isn't looking very promising but hopefully I'll be able to get back out.
